“A painter of conflict — and not only because of the subject I am working on now. I like to declare my historical anger at things I could not live through or change but which, being aware of the situation surrounding ordinary Salvadorans, awakened in me the need to show it through painting.”

Artist Statement
“My work is born of the desire to express, to give an explanation of the situation the country is living through — a reminder of what our grandparents and parents went through.”
“I paint what happened in the past, in an attempt to keep it from repeating in the present.”
Identity in Resistance
Every composition begins with a deep inquiry into our roots. The use of colour and form is not accidental; it answers to the pulse of Cuscatlán soil and to the historical weight we carry on our shoulders.
